I met Mordecai on a fishing vessel that sailed the Baltic Sea. The vessel was named Roldolfo. It’s crew was most savage. Until they met sweet Mordecai that is. He captured the hearts of the entire crew with his crazy antics. As they were fishing he would lick their boots until they would feed him a fish. Once he tasted the morsel his thirst for fresh fleshy fish could never be quenched. He ate the entire catch. Normally the crew would be furious if their entire catch disappeared but Mordecai was just too cute. The captain renamed his vessel Mordecai’s Mansion and insisted that Mordecai be brought along on every voyage. Mordecai’s Mansion became the most successful fishing vessel in the history of fishing on the Baltic Sea.

This is a sketch I found in a drawer from my dear friend Jacques Bastien. Jacques and I sought passage from France to New York on the illustrious ocean liner Normandie. Jacques and I smuggled a couple of kittens aboard. The kittens required more milk than we anticipated and the ships crew started to get suspicious. Jacques devised a plan to get more milk using extra long straws. We connected straws from our cabin to the kitchen. We had all the milk we needed for the rest of the journey. The kittens arrived in New York physically fit and ready to take the modeling business by storm. Jacques was deported and now he is in love. His quick wit and craftsmanship shall not soon be forgotten.

Sunbeam and I love to play fort. I often put progressively smaller boxes for Sunbeam to nap in. Eventually the box will be about half his size but he still tries to sleep in it. As a reward I always get a refrigerator sized box for him to sleep in for a week or two. I’ve been working on a thesis about why cats love to play in boxes but it is not quite ready for publishing.

Good old Quincey. Quincey just loves playing with dart guns. Both Quincey and I are quite content as long as we have a Nerf gun nearby. I try to get the darts past Quincey and onto the chair which proves to be nearly impossible. The dart’s velocity is no match for Quincey’s quick eyes and lightning fast reflexes. After nearly 3 hours of shooting darts I only managed to get one dart past Quincey and onto the chair. Great match Quincey but be warned I have written Nerf and requested a custom made gun so next match you may not be so lucky.
